Staff Recruiting Success with Craig's List...instead of an overwhelming nightmare.

If you run a cleaning service business and already staff or are planning on staffing in the near future maintaining a stack of ready to go applicants is not just a good idea it is a necessity. By having people you can pull from in the event of a quick start up request or last minute project request you will save yourself countless hours of 'emergency' recruiting.

Something we hear often from cleaning companies using Craig's List for staff recruiting is that they are overwhelmed by the amount of responses they receive from these ads. As a result we have seen service companies decide to quit using what is an incredibly valuable, highly effective and FREE resource.

Your first step is to eliminate phone calls. In your advertisement specify either an email address to reply to or better yet use an
employment form on your website.

By specifying no phone calls you are able to quickly and at your convenience gather applications of potential staff. Although email will work, by sending applicants to a web form you are able to collect important information such as city the potential employee can work in, experience level, hours and shift desired and so forth. Web forms are customizable and can be set up to ask any of the questions you find important when screening applicants.

Because you have eliminated the phone calls you are able to decide when and if you follow up by phone or email.

By compiling a database of applicants you have the option to set up interviews for specific regional locations as well as maintain occasional contact with applicants to see if they are still interested in employment with your company.

Craig's List can be a great way to pool a lot of employment applications quickly. North Dallas area residential and janitorial company
RZJ Janitorial in Plano, Lewisville and Denton, TX sees over 70 clicks daily for each employment ad they run on CL. That amount of traffic is consistent for 3-4 days with each ad placed.

Given those statistics imagine if you ran an effective employment advertisement weekly. No more expensive newspaper ads! No more spending weekends hanging flyers up at grocery stores and laundry mats...NO MORE hiring the first person that actually shows up to an interview.

By collecting and maintaining a good collection of applicants you can be more selective in your recruiting and less likely to hire out of desperation.
